The monetary unit in Brazil is the Real (plural Reais) (BRL). The rate of exchange varies but is usually 5 Reais to 1 US dollar. Travelers’ checks and foreign bank notes are exchanged by banks, official exchange offices at airports, or through ATM machines which are readily available. Personal checks are not normally cashed by Brazilian banks.

If you require disability specific facilities or have other special needs, please indicate this on your registration form where you will be requested to provide detailed requirements.

Rio de Janeiro electricity is 110 volts or 220 volts, 60 cycles, alternating current. An adapter is not needed for American appliances. The most common electrical outlet accepts appliances with two round pins as well as American style connections that have two flat prongs and a ground. The Fairmont Hotel has both types of outlets in every room.

Do not drink the tap water in Rio de Janeiro, but instead opt for bottled water. Tap water is fine for bathing. Restaurants serve only bottled water, either carbonated (com gas) or non-carbonated (sem gas).

For your own peace of mind, we strongly recommend that you obtain adequate travel and health insurance prior to beginning your travels to Brazil.

Congress Organizers are not liable for personal accidents, losses or damage to the private property of speakers, registered attendees or any accompanying persons during the Congress. Please make your own arrangements with respect to personal insurance.

While the official language of Global is English for this Congress, English-Portuguese translation will be provided.

The program is correct at the time of posting on the website, or printing in any publicity materials. Congress Organizers reserve the right to alter the program as necessary.

Cofres e caixas de segurança
The hotels provide a safe in every room. Central safe deposit boxes are not provided by hotels.

Even if the Brazilians are fantastic people who are usually curious and friendly to foreigners, Rio de Janeiro, as most big cities with social differences in the world, sometimes faces security issues.

We encourage you to follow these basic common sense rules:

Be prudent with your belongings and keep an eye on your purse and wallet at all times. We do recommend that you leave your passport, extra cash, important documents, jewelry, watches and other valuables in your hotel safe, as you will not need them during your visit.

Avoid roaming on streets that are not attended by police after dark.

It is not wise to travel on public transportation.  A safer option is to call a taxi or Uber.

It is best to use ATM machines that are located inside buildings, banks, shopping centers or hotels.  Ideally, you should ask a person you know to stand near or behind you facing outward when you are using an ATM machine.

Always have a copy of your passport and a hotel ID card with you when exploring the city to make sure you find your way back to your hotel.

It is never wise to wear your congress name badge or carry your congress bag on the street. Always remove your badge and leave your bag in your hotel room when you leave the conference center.

Hotels generally include any service charge on the bill. Restaurant tips are discretionary, but are often found on the final bills as a “suggestion.” In Brazil, the norm remains 10%. Taxi driver tips are not expected although most passengers will round the fare up if satisfied with the service.

In the event of any travel disruptions, Congress Organizers will not be held responsible for any loss incurred by any registrant or family member either en route to or from the Congress. By registering for the Congress, each participate accepts full responsibility for their own travel arrangements and any consequences for themselves and for all accompanying persons.

Most travelers are admitted into Brazil with a valid passport and a visa. Some countries are exempt from the visa requirement. Please check well in advance to determine if you will need a visa or not and begin your application process at least three months before the Congress.

To allow us to assist you in obtaining any required visas or travel documents, it is essential that you complete the Congress registration using the on-line payment system and include a valid email address. Congress Organizers will process your registration and send a receipt of your payment. You can present this receipt to the Brazilian embassy or consulate with your visa application documents.

We cannot issue visa invitation letters until you have registered for the Congress. If you need a letter of invitation to complete your visa application, contact Carolina Prado at masterrhinobrazil@gmail.com and type VISA LETTER in the subject line of your email. Include your name and address as they appear in your passport and advise if any family members will be traveling with you who also need a visa.

In the event that your visa application is not successful, you must advise the Executive Office by email at masterrhinobrazil@gmail.com by January 20, 2025 to receive a refund of your registration fee. No refunds for unsuccessful visa applications will be made after January 20, 2025.

Fairmont Hotel offers Wi-Fi for a free.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are thrilled to welcome you to the World Rhinoplasty Congress, to be held in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro from March 10th to 13th, 2025. This year's congress promises to be the most significant and groundbreaking event in the history of rhinoplasty, bringing together the world's foremost experts, innovators, and enthusiasts in the field.

Brazil takes up the torch of the Global Masters in Rhinoplasty, ignited in Berlin by the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe and the Rhinoplasty Society, whose mission is to unite rhinoplasty societies and experts from the five continents at its biennial congress. This congress brings together plastic surgeons and facial plastic surgeons to compare analyses, techniques, management of procedures, and patient care.

The congress will take place two days after the legendary Champions' Parade of the Rio Carnival, which brings together the best samba schools in Brazil. This will allow attendees to experience this unique event just before the congress.

Nestled between the lush mountains and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean, Rio de Janeiro offers a stunning backdrop for what we believe will be an unforgettable gathering. From the iconic Christ the Redeemer to the lively Copacabana Beach, the city's rich culture and warm hospitality will undoubtedly enhance your experience.

Our comprehensive program is designed to provide unparalleled opportunities for learning, networking, and collaboration. With over 100 sessions, including keynote lectures, live surgeries, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops, attendees will have access to the latest advancements and techniques in rhinoplasty. We are honored to have an exceptional lineup of speakers who are leaders in their specialties, ready to share their invaluable insights and experiences.

We also recognize the importance of building connections and fostering a sense of community. Our social events are thoughtfully planned to facilitate networking in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. From the welcome reception to the gala dinner, you will have ample opportunities to reconnect with old friends and forge new professional relationships.

We are confident that the World Rhinoplasty Congress in Rio will not only meet but exceed your expectations. It is a unique platform where knowledge meets innovation, and where every participant can contribute to the future of rhinoplasty.

Thank you for joining us in Rio for what promises to be the most extraordinary rhinoplasty congress of all time. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing this remarkable experience together. Warm regards,

The Global Masters in Rhinoplasty Congress Organizing Committee
